HCO Kenya / St. Paul Childrens Care Centre Embul-bul, Kenya

The children’s home was established in 1983, approximately 30 kilometers from Nairobi, in the town of Embul-bul. Currently the home houses 71 children, varying in ages from a few months to around 19 years old.
There are a few ongoing projects occurring at St. Pauls. The most recently completed project is the reconstruction of the kitchen, bathrooms, showers, and dormitories that were destroyed in a kitchen fire this in July of 2008. The construction was finished in July of 2009 and the children were able to move back into the dormitories on July 26, 2009.
St. Paul Childrens Care Centre was also gifted 10 acres of land for the period of 5 years. They are currently cultivating this land to grow food to feed the children. They have the option to purchase 5 of the 10 acres for the price of 950,000 Kenyan shillings, approximately $12,400 USD. The acreage of farm land will be able to save St. Paul’s 50,000 Kenyan shillings a month in food supplies. Our primary objective is to assist them in the purchasing of this land, as well as its continued cultivation and improvement.
